At Dowling Metal Products we are industry leaders in sheet metal component manufacturing. We offer the latest in profile cutting, edge finishing and sheet metal bending. To process your parts efficiently and minimise administrative delays to production, we require digital files to be supplied in the following formats. Our Preferred file formats are FLAT PATTERN DXF and 3D STEP File these files accompanied with a PDF including any required bend details and other finishes. Any DXF files require all CAD information contained to be in LINE, POLYLINE and ARC information we cannot process SPLINE information. We can accept DWG files but require all non-relevant part information to be removed. We can accept Illustrator and Corel Draw files but require files to be native Vector Formats and exports from these programs to DXF formats is not recommended as they give very poor results. We have an in-house CAD drafting service which can assist in simple file corrections but prefer files to be supplied ready for our system to fabricate, this will guarantee minimal delays. Minimum charge for file alterations is $100 per hour, charged in 15 minute increments.
